About

Originally hailing from Novi, Michigan, a suburb of the Metro Detroit area, I grew up jumping on trampolines and intently loving baby dolls with my big sister. Adventure and exploration have been instilled in me by my parents for as long as I can remember. My childhood was filled with adventures in the woods behind my house, visits to Ostrich, Peacock, and Conch farms, every possible sort of fruit picking possible, paddle boarding, hiking, biking, Barbies, double dutch jump rope, more museums and city tours than I could ever count, mountains, trees, lakes, and oceans from Atlantic to Pacific. Somehow all of that got me here, a midwest American girl moving to a small rural town in Peru.

I graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Visual Communication with a concentration in Photojournalism, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish Language. After five separate trips abroad, to four different continents, all while an undergraduate student, I spent the seven months following graduation traveling the United States for work, and catching my breath from all the international travel.

I've had the joy of experiencing 22 different countries, and 37 of the United States, with no plans to ever stop traveling in sight. Seeing the world, and the magnificent way that others choose to live their lives is the joy of my journey; I'm a photojournalist and an anthropologist to the core of my being.

I am ecstatic about joining a team that I can fully support down in Peru, and establishing a life for myself abroad. While rural life will certainly come with its own challenges, I'm ready for my next big step out in the "real world."
